I'm a Staff Machine Learning Scientist at Solventum (based in Dublin, Ireland), working on applications of Generative AI / Natural Language Processing in healthcare. My team is teaching machines to understand spoken conversations between doctors and patients, with my work focusing on evaluation of natural language generation systems, and on methods for building better medical language models.

Previously, I lead the machine learning research team at News Intelligence startup Aylien (acquired by Quantexa), where we focused on Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing. I also worked in data infrastructure and analytics at both SoundCloud and the Open Knowledge Foundation.

I hold a Ph.D. in Audio Signal Processing and Computer Science from the Maynooth University (Ireland), where I was supervised by Prof. Victor Lazzarini.
